The Future is Now: Beer Popsicles

I’m not a fan of trendy, expensive, here-today-and-gone-tomorrow drinks for many reasons, one being that they’re usually, uh, very fucking unnecessary.

The Beer Popsicle (or Hopsicle, if you must), falls square in the center of all these faults, but still has a huge advantage: it’s (relatively) simple, and it’s beer.

Served at Diablo Royale Este in New York City’s West Village, the Hopsicle is a Tecate can cut open (with a Samurai blade, natch) injected with simple syrup and lime juice, then frozen for four days and served with a wooden stake lodged into its mouth. It’s a push-pop for adults, really, and a novelty worth trying.
